This chimney was located in a conservation area of Torquay, it had a loose centre pot. We lashed it up with rope to make safe as a temporary measure before scaffolding was erected. The chimney had several leaks and treated render which was now delaminating.
We supplied and fixed a reclaimed centre louvered pot and correct hooded clay cowls. The bituminous treatment was carefully scraped off and prepared for rendering. During this work the lead flashings and surround slates were repaired. The chimney was traditionally lime rendered and then a suitable paint was applied to allow the render to breathe.
